After trawling through the sales (mostly online) trying to find a bargain, something occurred to me. Whilst, yes, sales can be great for picking up bargains or finally treating yourself to the piece you’ve wanted for ages, more often than not, they’re a waste of money. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve found ‘wonderful’ things in the sale, only to get them home, put them in my wardrobe, and for them to never see the light of day again.

Today I was browsing the ASOS sale and spotted quite a few sale items that were nice. However, before adding them to my basket I though to myself, ‘Would I really want this if it wasn’t in the sale’, and if that was so then ‘Would I still want to wear it in a months time?’. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not knocking the sales. It’s great to find lovely things for a fraction of the price, but if you’re anything like me, you’ll often by things that really aren’t worth it.

All this thought on sales got me to thinking and I decided I’d do a feature of wardrobe staples. Things that aren’t going to go out of style or sit in your wardrobe for months on end without getting worn. Things that if you did see in the sale, you could snap up without a second thought, because it’s going to be worth it.

I apologise for the incredibly long introduction there, but first on my list it the white t-shirt. I love white t-shirts. I think they can look great with anything, they’re in-expensive and they will last you forever. I like to wear mine with jeans for a simple look, or maybe tucked into a high waisted skirt if I’m feeling more feminine. I just can’t get enough of them! I really cannot imagine them ever going out of style. They're a classic, not to mention incredibly comfortable.
