When it comes to makeup I find people tend to have their 'things'. Some people can't live without eye liner, others love a good mascara. Me? I like lipstick. I like to play it very safe with my shades of choice, always sticking to a neutral soft pink. Yet the past few months I've come across a brand that has managed to push me out of my comfort zone, if only to a slightly brighter shade.
Back in the Summer I picked up my first Bobbi Brown Lipstick in the shade Rosy. It's a little brighter than what I'd usually opt for. It actually took me a couple of months to wear it out of the house, but I've not looked back since. It's one of their Sheer Lip Colour formulas, although I wouldn't say this was too sheer at all. It's super moisturising and lasts forever, even after sipping a few drinks. I loved this one so much that a few months later I decided to try out Pink Taffy. Now this one is definitely a lot more sheer and more of a 'Barely There' shade. It probably gets the least wear out of my Bobbi Brown lipsticks, but it's still lovely.
My go-to shade of the moment has been Sandwash Pink. This was actually a cast off from my mum, who is forever buying lipsticks then deciding she hates the shades. This is obviously a massive bonus for me, and so I ended up with this fantastic soft pink shade. It's one of the Rich Lip Colours, which I find not quite as moisturising, but still a fantastic velvety formula. I also love Melba Peach, although find this shade looks a little better on me in the summer months, when my face isn't quite so pale.
Since discovering Bobbi Brown lipsticks, other brands seem to have taken a slight backseat. They don't come cheap, but it makes it all that more special treating myself to a new one.
