It's been a long time since I posted something beauty related over here. When it comes to makeup I generally find something I love and stick to it. I wasn't sure it was possible for my makeup routine to get any simpler, but recently it has.
I'm not sure if it's because of increased confidence or increased laziness, but I've found myself using less and less on my face. I used to dread the thought of leaving the house sans foundation, yet the last couple of months have seen me embark on a day out shopping with concealer and not a lot else.
I've struggled with my skin for a while now, and it's still nowhere near perfect, but I'm so much more comfortable just dabbing a bit of concealer over the problem areas. I've realised that it's not worth a whole face of makeup just to pick up some mozzarella sticks in Tesco, and most of the people in there aren't going to care what you're wearing on your face. My go-to at the moment is Seventeen Stay Time concealer, the perfect shade and it doesn't seem to look cakey over blemishes. Always a plus when I always seem to have at least one spot. I like to use my beloved By Terry Touche Veloutee under the eyes to brighten and along the brow bone.
On the subject of brows, a while back I fell in love with the Anastasia Brow Wiz in Ash Blonde. I struggled for so long to find the perfect shade for my brown, and this is definitely it. It takes no time, so for someone who would rather spend and extra 10 minutes in bed, it's perfect.
I usually get really dry, chapped lips in the Winter, but I've found my saviour this year. I'd heard people rave about the Nuxe Reve De Miel balm for a while, yet I've only recently purchased it. It's been a wonder for my lips, and I would recommend it to anyone. I also seem to have shyed away from lipstick on a daily basis this winter. Instead I've opted for the L'Oreal Infallible Lipliner in Always Toasted accompanied by my Korres Lip Butter Stick in Rose. I've found it gives a good 'your lips but better' shade, whilst also keeping my lips nice and hydrated.
I've forgone eye makeup almost completely for everyday wear. I'm on the hunt for a nice mascara for sensitive eyes, as I've found myself becoming more and more irritated my eye makeup recently. So until then, mascara has taken a definite backseat. A few years back I wouldn't have dared leave the house without it. Now I couldn't care less if I'm wearing it, and it only seems to find its way out of the depths of my makeup bag if I'm on a night out or have specific mascara-worthy plans.
Obviously the foundation still comes out when needs be, but if I'm not going to be seeing a lot of people and have no real plans then this lot ends up on my face. It's actually a really refreshing feeling not worrying about people seeing me in minimal makeup.
