How To: Ombre Nails

Ombre nails (and ombre everything) were everywhere this time last year. So me, being as late as possible, deciced to post a mini tutorial on how to perfect them.
I find it helps to paint your nails with a light solid colour beforehand. I chose a favourite of mine, Essie's Fiji. Once this coat has dried pick two or three colours which you wish to ombre. I have tiny nails, so I find that two colours works a little better.

You will need:
Base Colour
Top Coat
2 or 3 chosen colours
A sponge of some sort
A piece of paper

1. Paint your chosen colours onto a piece of paper. I tend to overlap the colours slightly to help them blend. Use quite a large amount of polish as you'll be dipping your sponge into it.

2. Dip the sponge into the polish until covered.

3. Press the sponge onto the nail. Don't worry about mess, it can be cleaned up later. If you need to, wait for the nail to dry a little and do another coat. Repeat this step for all your nails.

4. Once your nails are dry, clean up the outsides using a cotton bud dipped in nail varnish remover. Complete with a top coat and you're done!

Hopefully you all do a better job of cleaning up your nails afterwards than I did. Hope this is helpful, and happing nail painting!
