Tartan Leggings

I very nearly didn't post this. I'm getting really fed up of my outfit posts lately. Maybe it's the location,(my garden isn't the most exciting of places) or the fact that I'm not the most comfortable in front of a camera, but something isn't working. Despite this, I really really like these leggings and felt it very important that I share them.

Speaking of leggings, I think I have a problem. A few years ago, if you'd have asked me to wear a pair of leggings, I'd have laughed in your face. I used to despise them, especially if they weren't worn with a long enough top. Two years later and I can't get enough of them. Super cosy (always top on my list of priorities) and can be worn with a wide variety of jumpers. I now own around 5 or 6 pairs and love them all equally. This lovely pair is from Topshop and I think we're going to be very good friends. I've also fallen a little in love with this beautiful necklace from Ever Ours. I bought two others but this one is definitely my favourite.

I'm planning on putting together a recent purchases/haul type post. I've bought a few nice bits recently and want to get round to sharing them with you. Problem is I really dislike trying to photograph clothes. It would all be good if I was willing to foray into youtube, so much easier but so much scarier. Not quite sure I see it happening any time soon.

Well you cured my January blues

Hello first outfit post of the year, it's been a while. Firstly, can we please talk about how I definitely should have worn a jacket when taking these photos. Cold is not the word for it.

I bought this a few months back and I only wore it for the first time a few weeks ago. Trying to style a peplum hem skirt is trickier than I first thought. If you fancy giving it a go, it's currently £9.50 in the ASOS sale! I fell in love with this Topshop top a while back, and luckily managed to track it down in the sales at the weekend. I've said it before, I really don't get on well with sales, but once in a while I'll manage to find something good.

I definitely need to find someone to start taking outfit pictures for me. Problem is, when it comes to cameras my mum isn't the most knowledgable. In fact the last time I asked her to take a photo for me it definitely ended in some sort of argument. I was also wearing these beautiful shoes, but couldn't get them in shot!

Some people look fantastic in leather, I've never though myself to be one of those people. However, when I spotted this skirt in Topshop, I fell in love. It may be current penchant for tartan (there's another outfit post in the pipeline featuring it, whoops) but something about this skirt was calling me.

I went home empty handed, but found myself on the website for the next few days wishing I'd picked it up. So, this morning, I rushed out to Topshop and finally bought it home. As you can see in the pictures, this one is the tiniest bit too tight, I can never win with Topshop sizing. Sadly the size up was massive and I needed it, so it's just incentive to possibly maybe get back to the gym at some point.

I've got a couple of things to do before I have to rush off and catch my coach to London.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

If you like your coffee hot, let me be your coffee pot.

I know it's a little bit cliché, but I can't seem to get enough of fluffy jumpers. This pastel Topshop offering is the perfect colour. Whilst it may be the tiniest bit itchy, with a t-shirt on underneath it's actually very cosy. I picked this skirt up in the Topshop sale last week, and it's so lovely. The fabric is a lot heavier than most skater skirts, so it feels a lot nicer to wear, and even better for spinning round in circles in.

Right now I'm focusing on getting through the next few days at work (someone find me my perfect job now please!) and then I'm off to London to see Arctic Monkeys on Friday. I can't believe it's been almost two years since I saw them for the first time, the time has definitely flown by.

In other news, I'm trying to use ASOS Fashion Finder a bit more. You can find my profile here and, if you use it, let me know yours!

Been wondering if your heart's still open and if so I wanna know what time it shuts.

Dress - ASOS
Boots - Topshop (sale)

It should be no secret by now that I love elephants. Combine that with my new found love for smock dresses, and I think we've found perfection. In dress form anway.

I spotted this dress after already having placed a large ASOS order. Luckily a few things ended up getting returned, and this dress turned up in their place. In hindsight I wish I'd ordered a 6. This is much larger than the previous smock dress I bought from ASOS. But hey ho, I'm too lazy so I'll just look like I'm wearing a sack forever more.

I feel like I've been pretty absent from my blog lately. Obviously I needed a few days to be extremely excited about Arctic Monkeys impending new album (please all be ridiculously excited with me). I am so jealous of anyone at Glastonbury this week.

I don't often write about my personal life on here. It's not intentional, there's just never much going on. However, I recently broke up with my boyfriend of almost 3 and a half years, and I'm really not sure how I feel about it. I bet no one even knew I had a boyfriend. I don't think I ever mentioned him on here, let alone twitter or instagram! Its sad, and I'm still hoping things turn out for the better, but he'd still one of my best friends, so I'm sure everything will be ok.

Small insight into my life over. It was so warm whilst I was outside taking these photos, I just wish we could have a proper summer already. I'm in desperate need of a real holiday, but I really doubt that's going to happen until next summer now. Someone bring us some sun!
