Treats for the Face

Mario Badescu Buffering & Drying Lotions

I tend to go through phases. One month I'll buy lots and lots of clothing, and other months all I want are new beauty purchases. The last week or so has definitely been about clothes, but before that I accidentally bought a few beauty bits.

I'd been eyeing up the Mario Badescu range for a couple of months, and when my Malin + Goetz treatment eventually ran out, I thought I'd give these two a go. I have yet to use the Buffering Lotion (formulated for under the skin, cystic acne) but the Drying Lotion seems to be working well on any annoying spots that have appeared. I wouldn't say it's any better than the Malin + Goetz, but it's certainly just as good!

I ordered the Luminous Silk foundation a month or so back, and it's a lovely formula and the perfect colour for me. It's a nice foundation but I'm not completely sold on it yet. I'm still on the hunt for a good primer to use with it, as my beloved Laura Mercier primer isn't doing the best job. It looks lovely when applied, but I'm finding that after a couple of hours it starts to make my skin look kind of scaly? Any recommendations?

I'm definitely very very behind on the Nars blush bandwagon, but this is probably my new favourite. I'd read multiple reviews of Orgasm before and always thought it'd be too bright for me. However, I decided to just bite the bullet and add it to my basket. I'm so glad I did. If you don't use too much it's the perfect coral/pink shade.

There might be another mini 'haul' type post coming up soon, I've been buying a few too many jumpers lately.
